Come to Me

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” – Matthew 11:28-30.

Are you weary, carrying a heavy burden?

Jesus is calling you to himself…..

“Come to me, I will refresh your life, for I am your oasis. Simply join your life with mine, learn my ways and you’ll discover that I’m gentle, humble, and easy to please. You will find refreshment and rest in me. For all I require of you will be pleasant (kind) ad easy to bear”.

There’s an invitation for you to come to the Father. There is an invitation available for you to approach and come close to him. You don’t have to feel worn out, weary or exhausted. But if you do find yourself in that place, the Lord is telling you to come to him.

Come to him with the load that you are carrying. Approach the Father and give him all your burdens. Completely surrender your heavy load to him, don’t just transfer it expecting it back after your conversation with him.

Approach God and give him everything. Every mental load and emotional load, every physical and spiritual load you are carrying. Even the ones you have been carrying for many years. Lay everything down to him and let him carry it for you.

Commit yourself to lay the baggage down. You can’t fix it or manage it for long, it will only burn you out and destroy you over time.  Commit yourself to lay it on Jesus’s feet.

When you come to God and leave your load with him, He promises to refresh you and be your oasis (a place where you can find safety and assurance).

God is asking you to join your life with him. Answer him and say yes to him so that you can walk and learn his ways.

Learning, following and living in God’s way will help you to discover more of God’s character and discover that He is gentle, humble and He is really easy to please. Imagine that! God is easier to please than the people in our world.

You will find great refreshment and complete rest in Christ, your true Oasis. There is great joy in God because all He requires of you is pleasant (kind and gentle) and easy to bear. You don’t have to change the way you look or act a certain way or do religious rituals (excess fasting & prayer) before you are accepted by him. He loves you just the way you are and He never condemns you.

 No! Your oasis will never condemn you. He completely loves you and whispers encouragement and corrections to you.

Whatever your load is, whatever the burden or the weariness is, accept the invitation from God to come to him. His invitation comes with gentleness and peace.

His yoke is easy and his burden is light.

Prayer:

• Lord God, my great Oasis, my place of safety,  help me to consistently accept your invitation to approach you and come near to you.

• Lord, help me to turn to you and lay all my worries and burdens on you because you know how to calm them without me sinking. Because if I was to continue carrying my load myself, I know Lord for sure I would sink.

• Help me Lord to join my life with yours and learn from you the ways of a true life which is found in you. So that I can discover more of your gentleness and humbleness. Help me to completely rest in you.

• Lord help me to cast all my worries and anxiety on you so I can enjoy the pleasant life you have for me and walk in the load you have for me which is light and really easy to bear.

• Thank you Jesus for your new refreshment over my life. In Jesus’ Name. Amen
