The True Light

God said, “Let there be light and there was light. God saw that the light was good and he separated the light from the darkness” (Genesis 1:3-4). From this verse, we know what God’s intentions are concerning light and darkness, to be separated. This means that darkness and light can not be together. They do not fit together and that was why God had to separate them. He saw that light was good, but not good with darkness.

This same verse also applies to our lives. we can not live in darkness and still expect to walk in the light or expect the light to dwell in us. It’s either we are fully in the light or we are fully in darkness. But we are encouraged to choose light, to choose Jesus because Jesus is light!

In a world that is full of darkness, we as children of God have an advantage over every darkness we face. Jesus is the light, and He lives in us. The one who is in us is greater than the one who is in the world ( 1 John 4:4). Jesus came as the light that we may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and twisted generation, among whom we shine as lights in the world (Philippians 2:15).

The main function of light is to help us to see, especially in dark places. Light allows us to see our surrounding world clearly and also helps us to distinguish details around us. Likewise, when Jesus, the light of the world, lives in us, He will help us to see everything hidden in the dark and helps us to distinguish between his truth and the lies of this world.

When our world is full of darkness then it becomes hard for God’s truth to enter. That is where the words of the enemy become louder than the words of God. That is where depression and other mental disorder becomes the norm. But when we invite the Father of light to come and hoover over every darkness in our lives, He comes in power and glory and shines His light through every dark area of our lives because He does not want us to remain in darkness.

When light appears, hope, peace, joy and freedom also appear. For at one time, we were in darkness, but now we are light in the Lord. We must walk as children of light (Ephesians 5:8).

Knowing Jesus is accepting light in our lives and as a result we will not remain in darkness (John 12:46). Whatever has filled your heart and your mind or has overwhelmed your world, invite Jesus today and He will shine his light into your life.

You belong to Jesus, the force of darkness has no hold on you. You are victorious the moment you invite Jesus into your life!
