We all go through the battle of the mind. But when going through it, we have an effective weapon to help us to overall all the challenges we face and come out even stronger and more powerful. This weapon is the word of God.
Romans 12:2 tells us to not follow the patterns of this world and not let our minds be free to think whatever it wants. This is when sin comes in and where we experience impurity of heart, soul, and thoughts.
Philippians 4:8 tells us exactly what we should allow our minds to think about. It encourages us to think of everything that is true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent, excellent and praiseworthy. These are the things we are commanded by Christ to allow our minds to think about. Thinking these thoughts will keep us pure and right standing in front of God so that our spirit, mind, and soul can be consistently aligned with God.
