Do you have a favorite worship song that you can play over and over again and you never get bored of it? Does it provide a path to the throne of God and allows you to pour out your heart and mind to the creator of the universe? Can you sing your way to God’s presence where you only have to sing the words and heaven understands what you need?
For me, I have quite a lot of worship songs that carries so much power and anointing in it. Singing it and hearing the words in my ears helps me to remember the promises of God in my life. It gives me the reassurance that God is in control and that He is the leader of my destiny so I don’t need to fear or worry about anything!
Even though I have so many worship songs to choose from, the wonderful thing about God is that He brings the right song to me at the right season in order to feed each of my circumstances. It’s amazing how much God really cares about us!
Last year September, I attended a purposeful women’s conference and at the end of the event, the worship team sang ‘Way Maker’ which was originally sang by Sinach. It wasn’t the first time I heard the song but it was the first time my heart and spirit heard it properly through the Holy Spirit. When the worshipers started singing the words ‘Even when I don’t see it you’re working, even when I don’t feel it you’re working, you’ll never stop, you’ll never stop working‘ my heart burst into tears. I knew God was telling me that this is my song to Him when things isn’t going my way. Those words stuck with me like glue! Whenever I get confused about where I’m going with my life or what the future holds or when I’m not sure what to do about certain situations or circumstances that song makes me realize that God is in control and all I have to do is wait patiently on Him.
But, If I had to really narrow my choices down to my top worship songs, I think Way Maker would be on my top three. Simply because it fits and speaks to so many life battles. It speaks God’s power and encourages us to be patient and that although we can’t see or feel God working for us and with us, it doesn’t mean He isn’t setting the backstage for our life performance and our greatest success. It also encourages us to trust God because He will also make a way no matter what.
There are also other anointing and powerful songs that God use people to write in order to energize our strength in Him. And I’m so thankful for these people who made themselves available for God to use them and allowed Him to work through them for the good of our soul.
I won’t lie, I’m not the best when it comes to prayer and sometimes it can take me a while to get into the mood or to move my spirit to pray. But, it’s different when it comes to worship. The second these anointed songs hits my ear my spirit moves and the Holy Spirit moves in me.
I feel that’s how my spirit is able to call out to God on my behave and call out to Him to come down and help me in my time of need.
Worship is my spirit and hearts cry to God. What is yours?
