You can not find peace in the things of this world but only in God.
Life has a way of reshaping and bending our lives to a way that we become confused in who we are or become distracted by the noise of the world. But, since God has given us a free will of life, we have to be in control of our lives and be in control of deciding on how we want to live our lives instead of allowing life to control us.
Regardless of whether you know who you are and where you’re going in life or, you are still searching for your true propose and calling, we all face difficult situations that only the touch of God can fix.
As children of Christ, we must find peace in every difficult storm, battles, and any situation we may face. Since everyone is busy in living life, we can sometimes forget how to reach out to God for help because he is the one that will teach us how to find peace in whatever issues we may find ourselves.
Below are four steps to finding peace in difficult situations through Christ.
- Focus on God, not the situation. Philippians 4 vs 14
How you know God will determine how joyful you will be. This will help you to be calm in difficult times, once you understand that God has experienced what you have experienced, therefore there’s no need to be worried or afraid. In all things “Rejoice always” – 1 Thessalonians 5 vs 16 .
God only wants what’s good for you- Romans 8 vs 28. So, consider it joyful when you face any trial – James 1vs 2
2. Spend time serving others.
Don’t come to God because of what you want from Him, but serve Him regardless of whether He gives you want you to want or not. Let your life bring people to christ not chase them away from Him. Your character and body language matter a lot. Distract yourself from your problems by helping others and serving them – Philippians 4 vs 6
When you devote your time and effort into serving others, you are serving God and representing Him through your service.
3. Pray concerning the things bothering your heart.
Bring your troubles to the throne of Grace. God is our friend, so you have to treat Him like a friend, not a casual friend that you greet when you meet him/her on the street or at the supermarket. He response based on how you see Him. If you see Him as your best friend and you develop an intimate relationship with Him, that’s exactly how He will see you too.
Talk to God. Lay down your troubles to Him and let Him help you. Above all, in whatever you do or in whatever you find yourself in, pray continuously as commanded in 1 Thessalonians 5:17
4. Meditate on the promises of God
Psalms 84 vs 11 reveals one of the Gods many promises for us.
Use your mouth to declare the promises of God over your life and over your circumstances and situations and He surely will speak and show up for you.
So, whatever you may be facing now, it is not the end of your journey. Every individual has to go through trials in order to grow and not remain the person they were yesterday.
While you’re going through hard times, remain strong and confident in the promises of God. Fear not, stand strong and firm because your God has overcome the world.
Use your mouth to pull out of the storm stronger than before by declaring the promises of God over your life.
Above all, pray, pray and pray. There’s no such thing as “too much prayer”. When you go through life’s storm and you commit yourself to prayer you’ll come out stronger and wiser. But, if you pass through the storm without God and without prayer, you may become weaker and vulnerable to life!
Don’t let life take away from you, but rather continue to gain from the Living truth- Jesus.
May you find peace in whatever storm you are facing, and remember, you are not alone.
Reach out to people around you that you know will pray with you and will strengthen you with words of encouragement. – You Are Not Alone, God got you!
Reach out to us if you need any personal prayer and encouragement- God loves you.
