Hope in the Wilderness

For a period of time, Hagar ‘helped’ Sarah to have the life she wanted but couldn’t wait on God for. But when Sarah’s appointed time came to now live out that life she desired and that God promised her, she no longer had a need for Hagar- read Genesis 16 & Genesis 21.

Many are those that have come into your life and you have helped but when they were done with you, forgot you ever existed. But just as God intervened for Hagar when Sarah sent her out, so will God intervene for you for every tear you’ve cried for people you have helped and that have deserted you.

El Roi, the God who sees, also sees what you are going through right now in your desert. Your story may not be like Hagar, your story may be that you are just constantly in the wilderness and you don’t see a way out. Be encouraged today that just as God saw Hagar and her son in the wilderness and provided and made him a great nation, you too can find hope in the wilderness.

No matter where you find yourself in, as long as God is there, you will find hope to live again.

It was because God came to meet with Hagar, called her by name and reassured her that He is now here to help her, that her hope was restored. Just as God had an encounter with Hagar and her son and turned their story completely around by making the boy into a great nation and providing for them in the desert to live there (Genesis 21:18-21), so can God make a way for you in your desert and turn things around for you.

Don’t give up or lose hope. God is still moving around in abandoned places to restore, revive and bring hope to all who have lost their hope.  Just as Hagar found hope in the wilderness so can you find hope in the wilderness today.

There is HOPE in your wilderness.
