Therefore, as God’s chosen people, Holy and dearly loved, clothes yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience- Colossians 3:12
We are God’s chosen beloved, set apart and sanctified for His purpose. We have been chosen as God’s special possession (1 Peter 2:9) to represent him here on earth and to show others who He truly is and the reason for our hope in him (1 Peter 3:15). As a result, we must produce the fruit of the Holy Spirit- (Galatians 5:22-23).
Our hearts must be full of compassion treating others with kindness and patience and not thinking we are above anyone but with humility, we must live a life pleasing to God and that draws others to God. Instead, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the desires of the flesh- (Romans 13:14). We must “be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love”– (Ephesians 4:2)
If you lack kindness, patience or gentleness, ask God, He is able to give you and also help you use it properly to give him glory. We can not be selective on those who we show kindness or compassion to, ask the Holy Spirit to work on your heart.
Prayer:
Father God, Thank you for choosing me as your people- Holy and dearly loved by you.
Lord, help me to walk in love towards people. Help me lord to walk in compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience on my journey here with you.
